Two Filipinos, one charged with high-value theft and breach of deportation order; and another, for trafficking more than 15 kilos of marijuana, failed to enter their plea at the District Court today, after the judge noted that they had no lawyers to represent them.
Judge Clement Lee adjourned the cases of Cezar Raiz and Ma.
Cristina Fernandez to January 12 next year.
Lee said he has received letters from the Legal Aid that they
were still processing the two defendants’ applications for lawyers’ services.

Raiz (also known as Rodrigo C. Balajadia,

Fernandez, on the other hand, was charged with violating
section 4(1)(a) and (3) of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, after her arrest on October
