Special guest at the event was Consul General Antonio A. Morales, who encouraged BMA to do more projects that will help and empower Bicolanos in Hong Kong and their families back home.
He also offered support by saying the Consulate is open to any group that needs space for their activities.

ConGen Morales was accompanied to the celebration by Consul Paul Saret, head of the Consulate’s assistance to nationals section.

Despite being a newbie organization, BMA has already undertaken huge projects such as the Bicol Tourism Festival held on Sept. 30 last year, with veteran journalist Ramon Tulfo as special guest. His popular “Isumbong Mo Kay Tulfo” radio program was brought to Chater Road so OFWs’ complaints and concerns could be given a hearing.

Another project the group takes pride in was the fundraising campaign it held for victims of the  Mayon Volcano eruption and Typhoon Usman which swept the region.
BMA founder Art Buban expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the group’s projects, in particular its members and officers of the executive committee, headed by Victoria Brabante.
