Magistrate Cheng chose a starting point of 12 months, saying the theft was a serious breach of her employer’s trust, but gave Escorido a one-third discount for her guilty plea.

Lantau Police charged Escorido last Aug. 29 with stealing one gold necklace, one gold neklace with endant, one gold pendant, five gold bracelets, one ilver necklace with pendant and two diamond rings with a total value of $100,00.
