A Filipina domestic worker accused of hurting and indecently
assaulting her six-year-old ward pleaded not guilty to the charges on Apr 8.
Angela Vivo, who is out on bail, is facing three charges of assault,
and two of indecent assault, on the child, on separate occasions spanning four years.

The alleged
victim, identified only as “X”, is the son of her employers.
Vivo’s made her
plea before Kowloon City Magistrate Woo Huey-fang.

The prosecution
states that the first assault on the alleged victim took place on an unknown
day in Jun 2016 outside the Yaumatei Fire Station in Kowloon.
The two other
assaults allegedly happened between July 2016 and on Sept 7, 2018, also in Yaumatei.

The charge sheet
said the assaults had caused hurt that interfered with the health of the
child.
The prosecution
also accused Vivo of indecently assaulting the boy on a day between 2015 and
2016, and repeated it on an unknown day last year inside her employers’ flat in
Yaumatei.

The prosecution
has lined up four witnesses during the two-day trial, including the alleged
victim, who will give evidence via CCTV.
Vivo has chosen
not to give evidence.
Magistrate Woo
set the trial for Jun 19-20, and extended Vivo’s bail until then. – Vir B. Lumicao
