The patient who died at United Christian Hospital is the 205th Covid fatality in HK

A 67-year-old male patient at United Christian Hospital succumbed to Covid-19 yesterday evening, according to a statement issued by the government today, Sept 13.

His death took Hong Kong’s total death toll from the coronavirus to 205.

The news came as a surprise as the daily bulletins issued by the Hospital Authority in recent days said all the infected patients still in hospital were in stable condition.

According to today’s advisory, the deceased was admitted to hospital on Sept 1, 2020, due to Covid-19. He was released from isolation subsequently but continued to be hospitalized for treatment.

His condition deteriorated until he succumbed at 6:22pm yesterday.

Meanwhile, four confirmed Covid-19 patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 11,850 patients have been discharged.

One imported case involving a 26-year-old male returnee from Qatar, was reported today.

The man was fully vaccinated in Hong Kong with the BioNTech vaccine, and tested positive for antibodies. He developed symptoms on Sept 11.
