A 34-year-old Filipina domestic helper was found dead inside a flat at 28 Tai Hang Road, after apparently hanging herself with a nylon rope.
Staff at the Migrant Workers Office confirmed being
told by the police about the apparent suicide, but are still awaiting further
information.
According to police, the Filipina’s employer called
at 7:14am today, after finding the lifeless helper.
The victim reportedly used a 4-meter plastic rope to
hang herself.

Emergency personnel who rushed to the flat immediately cut the rope but were too late. They declared
the victim dead at the scene.
No suicide note was found but initial investigations
revealed the helper was under some emotional distress because of family debt
problems.
Police said the exact cause of death will be
determined after an autopsy.
