A Filipina domestic helper will remain in jail after appearing Monday at West Kowloon Court, accused of stealing $649,000 worth of valuables, including $29,000
in cash.
Principal Magistrate Don So ordered Elizabeth Padre, 55
years old, remanded in custody until her next court appearance on Jan. 26 next year.
She is charged with violating section 9 of the Theft
Ordinance.

Padre is accused of stealing the following between the May 12,
2022 and Oct. 25, 2025 at her employer Lai Yee-sin’s flat in Rhine Garden on Castle
Peak Road in Sham Tseng. Tsuen Wan,
