A Filipina was remanded in jail after a hearing at Eastern
Court today over the theft of jewelry and cash totaling $437,000.
Raquelyn Aquacito, 46 years old, was returned to jail after Magistrate
Edward Wong adjourned the case to September 10. She retained the right to a bail
review, so Magistrate Wong scheduled it for July 24.
Aquacito faces
the charge of theft, contrary to section 9 of the Theft Ordinance.
She
is accused of stealing one gold chain with one gold medal, eight-gold coins,
two gold medals, two gold pendants, five diamond rings and $6,000 in cash, altogether
valued at $437,000, belonging to Chinese
female Tsang Ching Man.
The alleged theft took place between the 05th day of December 5, 2025 and May 4, 2026 at a flat in Ventris Place, 19-23 Ventris Road, Happy Valley.
