| The Philippine Consulate says it will close Sunday for as long as T8 is up |
The Hong Kong Observatory hoisted Storm Signal No 8 at 10:10pm Saturday night, as Typhoon Noul comes closer to the territory.
It added it will consider raising the storm signal to No 9,
betweem 1am and 2am on Sunday.
Based on its present track, Noul is still expected to hover
around 100 kilometers northeast of Hong Kong, before making a landfall in
Huizhou to Shanwei.

In the past hour, Noul brought sustained winds of around 62
kilometers per hour with maximum gusts exceeding 77 km per hour.
Winds are forecast to strengthen significantly overnight, along
with frequent and heavy squally thunderstorms and showers.
Chief Executive John Lee said on his social media page that he
has instructed all relevant government departments to take all necessary
measures to protect lives and property.
He also advised the public to remain vigiland and tune in to
the latest weather report.
In a Facebook post, the Philippine Consulate said it will close Sunday for as long as T8 (or higher) is in force.
Those who need consular services were told that they will be given priority in the following days.
Earlier, more than 150 flights in and out of Hong Kong were
cancelled by various airlines.
Bus companies scaled down their services for the daytime
routes, and have cancelled all late night or overnight services.
