Rizal Day remembrance activities
Dec 30, 2017, 7am-9am, Central, HK. Laying of wreath at commemorative plaque for Dr Jose Rizal at 5 D’Aguilar Street (exterior wall of Century Square), the site of a clinic where the Philippine national hero practised opthalmology from December 1891 to June 1892. Another wreath-laying will be held at Rednaxela Terrace in Mid-Levels, next to the Central giant escalator, where Rizal lived in a rented flat during his stay in Hong Kong. A third wreath will be laid at a site relating to Rizal on Ice House Street also in Central.

The public is hereby informed that from Dec. 10, 2017, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office has relocated to the 16th and 18th floors of the Mass Mutual Tower, 33 Lockhart Road, Wanchai. The following services will be provided by POLO: contract processing, OEC and BMOnline registration, OWWA-related matters and inquiries, complaints against employers and employment agencies and labor-related inquiries.

Paskong Pinoy 2017 at Chater Garden

Filipino community celebration of Christmas starting with the display of entries in the PaStaran 2017 lantern-making competition. Judging of entries and announcement of winners. The Misa de Aguinaldo will follow. A parade of the lanterns and playing of Christmas carols will cap the evening.

Fund-Raising Concert at St John’s 
The Cathedral of St. Michael  the Archangel (CSMA) Choir of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente of Bacoor City will hold a fund-raising concert at St. John’s Cathedral on Aug 13 at 4:00pm.  Proceeds will go to the repairs of the Bacoor Parish School, Ltd and the repairs of the St. Michael’s Cathedral, Bacoor City.

Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention
Thousands of people from different nationalities are expected to converge in Hong Kong on Aug.4-6 for a rare gathering of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  A large number of attendees will be from the Filipino community in Hong Kong. There will be a section designated for Tagalog and Iloko speakers. Other language groups like Indonesian, Thai, Hindi and even Chinese Sign Language will have a simultaneous translation from English being the main language to be used during the program. The convention focuses on not giving up despite life’s challenges. It will help anyone in the audience to keep a positive outlook and live a happy life even in sad times.
The gathering is open to the public and is free of charge.

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of HKSAR
The HKSAR Government is joining hands with different sectors to organize a wide variety of activities and events under the theme “Together · Progress · Opportunity”.

HKSAR 20th Anniversary Roving Exhibition
June 16-22 at Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill on (Friday).
An LED touchscreen panel will be set up at the venue to showcase the developments and achievements of the HKSAR over the past 20 years in areas such as the economy, technology, infrastructure, tourism, culture and sport. The exhibition will also feature winning entries of the 20th anniversary poster and video competitions. Visitors can take home a 20th anniversary souvenir distributed on the day after clicking the "Like" button on the HKSAR 20th anniversary Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HKSAR20).

Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit 
June 16-18 (Friday to Sunday) at Halls 3D and 3E of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Expo will be open to the public for free. Registration is required and can be made at the venue registration counter or through the event website in advance.  It is designed for all sectors of the community and the general public, especially stakeholders in elderly care and the service sector, elderly persons and their family members and caregivers.

Thematic Light-and-Music Show
