A Filipina domestic helper has been sentenced to one day for every $100 that she stole from her employer.
A 30-day prison term was meted today on Roxcel Asildeque, 30
years old, after she pleaded guilty at Shatin Court to stealing $3,000 from her
employer at their home in Hung Lam Court in Shatin, New Territories last Feb.

But because she pleaded guilty to the violation of section 9
of the Theft Ordinance, she received a one-third discount from Acting Principal
Magistrate Cheang Kei-hong, resulting in a 20-day jail term.
A hearing scheduled for March 25 was also cancelled.
