Its centerpiece is a towering statue of Tutankhamun, the 13th pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, who became famous in modern times after his nearly intact tomb containing an extraordinary collection of over 5,000 artifacts including his mummy and funeral mask, was discovered in 2022.
The exhibition opening is a prelude to the 70th anniversary next year of the start of diplomatic ties between China and Egypt.
