Caritas Health Day for FDWs
Caritas Asian Migrant Workers Social Service Project will launch a monthly Health Day program for foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong starting on Mar. 31. The three monthly sessions will involve individual work health consultation with a registered physiotherapist. Participants in the individual health consultations are required to join all three sessions.
The schedule of the monthly consultations is provided below:
31 March 2019 (Sunday), 10:30am-12:30pm
Individual work health consultation - Assessment on body pain problems- Giving tailored-made advice on exercise, posture & working environment. Fee: $10
28 April 2019 (Sunday)
Education Seminar - Introduction of work health & safety- Introduction of the use of equipment for elderly caring (Open for all English speaking FDWs with body pain problems). Fee: $10
25 May 2019 (Sunday)
Individual work health consultation - Follow-up & review of the assessment. Fee: $10
Targeted for the program are all English-speaking FDWs with work-related body pain problems.
The venue is Caritas Fortress Hill Centre, G/F. , No.28A, Fortress Hill Road, Hong Kong.

5. Ching Ming Festival (5 April)
6. Labour Day (1 May)
7. Tuen Ng Festival (7 June)
8. Hong Kong SAR Establishment Day (1 July)
9. Day after Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival (14 September)
10. National Day (1 October)
11. Chung Yeung Festival (7 October)
12. Chinese Winter Solstice Festival (22 December) or Christmas Day (25 December) (at the option of the employer)
Please note:All employees are entitled to the above statutory holidays. If the statutory holiday falls on a rest day, a holiday should be granted on the day following the rest day which is not a statutory holiday or an alternative holiday or a substituted holiday or a rest day. An employee having been employed under a continuous contract for not less than 3 months is entitled to the holiday pay which is equivalent to the daily average wages earned by the employee in the 12-month period preceding the holiday.Reference example:An employee is granted rest days on Sundays and his/ her employer chooses the Chinese Winter Solstice Festival (22 December) as statutory holiday. As the Chinese Winter Solstice Festival falls on Sunday, the employer should grant a holiday on the next day (i.e. 23 December), but this day should not be a statutory holiday or an alternative holiday or a substituted holiday or a rest day.

Join Guinness record-setting for ‘Most Nationalities in Tai Chi Class”
On Nov. 18, the International Social Service (ISS) Hong Kong Kong will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the “Most Nationalities in a Tai Chi Class”. The record-setting bid will take place from 10am-12noon at Southorn Playground in Wan Chai.

Target: around 500 participants from 50 countries taking part in beginner-level Tai Chi class. Beginners are welcome to join.
